Spain Bounce Back Against Belgium // 26 July 2008
Spain bounced back from their loss against Greece in Group A to handle Belgium 88-69 as four players scored in double figures.

Ivan Martinez Monumer led the way with 13 points and three of Spain's 10 three-pointers. Ignacio Llovet Camp and Toni Jaume Vicens each scored 11 points and Daniel Perez Otero had 10 points.

Lorenzo Giancaterino paced the Belgians with 16 points, Yannick Moray had 14, Quentin Serron 11 and Senna Joselito Hounhanou collected nine points and nine rebounds.

Frederic Wilmot's Belgium started the game well, leading 6-2 early and 12-6 midway through the first quarter. The Belgians trailed just 17-16 but were down 24-19 after one period. They stayed with the Spaniards and even led 31-29 on Moray's three-ball. But Spain finished the second quarter on a 9-0 run for a 45-36 lead at the break.

Spain used the three-ball to pull away from Belgium and led 61-43 before going into the fourth quarter ahead 65-47. The advantage was just 70-60 after back-to-back three-pointers by Alexandre Libert. But Martinez knocked down a triple and the Spanish defense held Belgium scoreless for four straight possessions in rebuilding a 79-62 cushion with three minutes to play.
